Skill2Skill GmbH releases a new version of the athleticscommunity.org

Just in time for the New Year, Skill2Skill launches a new version of the European Athletics Young Leaders Community www.athleticscommunity.org.

The soft launch took place in July 2010 at the European Championships in Barcelona. This new version of the online community aims to promote volunteer work and encourage community members make contributions to athletics and their local communities and get valuable recognition from European Athletics for the time and effort they contributed to the sport.

Participants can record their athletics volunteering hours and the hours spent on their personal athletics projects. Three official levels are recognition are offered; Bronze, silver and Gold. Organizations working in athletics, including major events, athletics meetings, road races and clubs, can become community partners and offer their volunteers the ability to count hours towards the European Athletics recognition.

The aim of the Community is to use modern communications and online community tools to encourage activity that helps promote athletics and prepare the sport for the next generation of leaders.

More functionalities are planned to encourage participant and exchange among athletics enthusiasts.
